Cory was born and raised in northern Utah. He is the youngest of four children. Throughout his youth he was involved in sports, boy scouts, and excelling in academics. In high school he managed to keep a 3.5 GPA or higher. After high school he served a 2 year mission for the LDS church in California. When he returned home he set his sights on a bachelors degree in business management with an emphasis in supply chain at BYU-I. He anticipates graduation in April of 2013.
Cory has always been entrepreneurial minded. Even at a young age he was thinking up business ideas. He has participated in an on campus business plan and elevator pitch competition. This required a lot of market research and time in preparing a professional presentation to three successful CEO's.
Those who have that entrepreneurial desire, know that you must quench it by being a influence in the business world. Cory has been no exception. His dad is a very successful cabinet maker and designer and introduced him to woodworking. After graduating high school he received a lathe and started to develop the skill of making wood pens. This skill started out as a hobby but soon turned into a business. His pens can be found here. Cory named his business after his fathers kitchen cabinet business, Castle Woodworking. Cory hopes to continue his love for business in the future.
